 quit smoking -mouth ulcers ever since 6 messages in this subject

| i packed up smoking 3 months ago and have been plagued with mouth ulcers ever since. normally 2 or 3 at a time, just as one batch seem like they are on their way out another lot take over. my doctor has put me on iron tablets but they dont seem to be working[BLACK POOS]. sorry if thats too much info. mouth ulcers effect the way i communicate as some words are just too painful to pronounce properly. the medical profession need to take this problem a little more seriously as the effects are quite debilitating. |

| this is not going to help: i quit smoking 9 years ago and have had ulcers ever since, not little ones,the only things that help are aloe vera gel,which you drink and steroids (not advisable)...? |

I gave up smoking nearly 2 months ago and these ulcers are driving me crazy, if it continues i think i'll start smoking again.
I've found it hard to quit but i've stuck with it but the ulcers leave me unable to speak correctly some of the time and i even get them on my tongue, its causing me to reconsider my effort to quit. |

| My husband gave up smoking 4 weeks ago and within days the ulcers arrived, as they have done every time he had stopped for the last 15 years. I read some of the messages on this site and bought some of the toothpaste which seemed to slow the ulcers down. Then I bought some of the super lysine tablets. What a difference after only a couple of days, he was eating and talking normally and now a week later they have all but nearly gone. I have a happy none smoking husband. Thanks for the recommendations on this site. |

What toothpaste are you talking about and what are the tablets, please tell me. My husband first gave up smoking 15 years ago for about 8 years, he had huge mouth ulcers nearly the wholetime. GP even sent him to hospital to get them checked, all useless. Now he needs to stop due to angina BUT the ulcers have returned with a vengance. Any recommendations will be much appreciated.
