HI there
I have been to dentist this week re Lichen reaction, I do not have any rash on my arms or body which is Lichen Planus but dentist said she is sure that my inner chhek ulcers which have whilt lacy marks on my cheeks, look at this site Lichen Olanus or Lichen reacation and see photos of this mouth problem. Lichen reaction can be caused by stress, allergies to what is going in a persons mouth eg tomatoes, strawberries (known irritants) boilings, crisps, nuts, all sorts of stuff, perhaps citrus fruits or just something that is irritating, also amalgamin (spelling?) fillings in teeth are a common problem. All this time I have been buying everything under the sun for mouth canker ulcers on inner cheeks so now have to start elimination problem and if no joy I have to have some metal fillings removed!
Hope this info is of use to you Rebecca if you have not found out since your last post on the site.
good luck.

Hi Rebecca
Sorry for a couple of spelling mistakes on above message, I said look at the site Lichen Olanus ...it is Lichen Planus and also I typed whilt lacy marks ....I meant white lacy marks, sorry for any confusion, my typing needs to get better.

Hello all
I was told I had Lichen Planus (inside cheek canker ulcers with white markings) when I went to dentist at the end of last year. He prescribed Betnesol steroid small pink tablets to dissolve and rinse about 4 times daily, getting along quite good with this treatment and also watching intake of stuff like strawberries, tomatoes etc when I got a letter for mouth biopsy, today I have now got stitches in my mouth, must say it is prety sore but not any worse than a usual large canker ulcer which I am pleased to say that the Betnsol was keeping the ulcers under control, however it is now a worry waiting for results even though I feel better in myself as I have been also taking supplements of Vitamin B complex and iron even though my levels were not low according to blood tests but I have felt ever so much better after taking them that I will continue with them as each of us know when our energy levels or feelings of wellbeing are good, I know that doctors always say that a good diet requires no supplements but I am sure a lot of us just keep buying vitamins etc when suffering with ulcers to try and get relief, off to take some pain relief because my mouth is so sore at the moment. |
